We loved Bali

We ended up having two nights at Nusa Lembongan at a great little hidden resort that Lach and Denise recommended for us.  We had a very quiet time there as unfortunately I had caught a cold.  Not a lot of fun in the very humid weather conditions.  Still I loved swimming in the surf and we had a great walk around to Tamarind Bay.

Then as planned we caught the ferry back to the mainland followed by a driver that took us down to Penang Pedang Beach in Uluwatu.  We stayed at Pinkcoco resort which I particularly liked.  Two nights there and then we grabbed a driver to take us to Canggu via Bingin and Balangan Beraches for a quick look.  I loved Balangan.  The top photo with the white sands and good surf.

We also called in to see the family at their fabulous villa north of Canggu before finding our villa, having a quick shower and then being dropped to The Lawn at Canggu for the pre wedding function.  We really did make the most of our driver … he even ran and got us beers while we were having a shower!  This brings me to the best part about Bai … the people.  They are gorgeous! Yes Bali has its downsides … there is way too much rubbish now and the traffic is a bit of a nightmare.  However, the cheapness of the holiday, the great fresh food and the people make it a really great holiday experience.  We loved the yoga as well … especially the aerial yoga which was a hoot.  We will be back!

Then of course there was the fabulous SmithKing wedding which was the whole shebang!  Georgia was the most stunningly beautiful bride!  The most romantic wedding I have ever been to combined with the best wedding venue ever!  Also fab food and copious amounts of cocktails and fine wines … and the odd spirit!  Every single guest was a delight to catch up with or meet.  Three great days of festivities and fabulous food … the suckling pig at the recovery was to die for!  So lovely to see the King and Smith families on mass.

And of course the best thing for me was seeing Jack and Sarah.  Being with them was like having an injection of sunshine!

Next stop Germany …
