Pete did a great job of driving for most of today. John took over about 50 km away from our destination as we were a bit worried about driving up the west side of Garda as we hadn’t taken the van that way before. It was a stunning drive and John did a brilliant job. Very narrow roads and tunnels. One of the James Bond movies had scenes racing through the tunnels.

We dropped Pete and Fi off in the middle of Riva Del Garda, as they had booked a hotel for the night as it is their wedding anniversary.

John is putting his boat together for racing first thing tomorrow morning. The weather is beautiful and the scenery amazing. We are camped at Torbole … about 5 km away from Riva. It is the same campsite that we have stayed before and racing is just outside the gate … perfect. We were a bit worried because the campsite doesn’t take bookings, and seeing as it is Friday and summer we were a bit concerned. All good though. I am looking forward to the weekend. Haven’t decided whether I just want to be lazy and lie on the beach or ride one of the bikes into town.

One thing I do know … when we get to Como I will have to “dry out” as I have been having way too good a time. Think I need to get some walking in before we get to Croatia for more “fun” with the Meechams and Stones.
