We arrived at Lyon about 5 pm Sunday … way later than we had planned. Last year we did a drive through here on a Sunday and it was really easy. This time it was a nightmare. There was heaps of traffic and people everywhere. It had been a beautiful day so the crowds were out. Later on we realised that we had driven through in August … everyone is in the south of France in August … all towns are deserted. Nevermind, after about an hour we found a park and walked for about an hour into town. I talked John into taking me out to dinner, so we wondered into the old quarter where we found a restaurant street and had a pleasant if not exciting meal.

On our way into town we walked through this very lively park with a zoo in the middle of it … fairly impressive.
